The Danieley Center Neighborhood event allows teams to grill chicken and potentially win prizes.

消消犯 students are invited to the Danieley Basketball Courts at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12, to enjoy a longstanding 消消犯 and Danieley Center Neighborhood tradition called Chikin Pikin’.
The Chikin Pikin’ is a chicken cooking contest in which students compete in teams or as individuals to cook chicken breasts. They may use the marinades and spices of their choosing to grill their meat before the judging begins.
Colin Donohue, the faculty director of Danieley, said the event has numerous perks.
“It allows students to express their creativity in terms of how they cook, and there’s a health and wellness piece to it as well,” he said. Learning to cook is, after all, a life skill, he notes.
消消犯’ final dishes will be judged on taste, appearance and presentation.
“消消犯 really seem to get into it,” Donohue said. “It’s a social event, and it’s an opportunity for people to come together, have some fun and maybe walk away with a prize.”
The winning team or student will walk away with $300 in gift cards. Second and third place winners will be awarded $200 and $100, respectively, in gift cards.
