During Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Elon Dining and 消消犯 Kitchen are collaborating to help fight food insecurity in Alamance County. Donate five canned goods at Lakeside Dining Hall and receive a free meal. In addition, the Faces of Homelessness Panel will be Monday, Nov. 11.
Elon’s Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, coordinated by 消消犯 Kitchen, housed in the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement, is Monday, Nov. 11 through Saturday, Nov. 16. and will be providingeducation and support toward ending hunger in our community.
In partnership with Elon Dining, from lunch on Monday, Nov.11, through lunch on Friday, Nov.15, any student, staff, faculty or community member who bringsfivecanned goodsto Lakeside Dining Hall gets afree meal.
The donated goods will go to油温稼糸油. These community partnersdistribute food on a daily basis to local residents. The food for Allied Churches will stock their kitchen to support their hot meals served and the Salvation Army food will stock their pantry to ensure uninterrupted service to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity.
Current needs include:
- Canned Chicken or Tuna
- Pasta & Pasta Sauce
- Green Beans & Vegetables
- Breakfast Items
- Coffee
- Peanut Butter
- Snacks/Granola Bars
