Forty-five ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ students presented original research April 15-17 at the 24th annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research at the University of Montana. It was the largest number of Elon students to ever make presentations at the same NCUR program.

The Summer Business Institute provides rising juniors, seniors, and May graduates in non-business majors with the opportunity to enhance their marketability. Spots remain open for the program from June 2-19, 2010, which provides participants with broad knowledge of business principles and practices.

Global leaders use stories to explain their successes and failures, but in an age of social media and cell phones, that’s no longer easy to do. For Laura Roselle, who shared her work Monday in ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s annual Distinguished Scholar Award Lecture, understanding this change is crucial for researchers who study how and why political messages help people make sense of their world.

Laura Roselle, one of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s most prolific scholars, will discuss the effects of a new media environment in the 21st century on Monday night during the annual Distinguished Scholar Award Lecture, which each year showcases the work of a faculty researcher whose work has made a lasting impact to her field of study.

Mathew Gendle, an associate professor of psychology, has been elected to serve a three-year term as a Councilor in the Psychology Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ leaders dedicated Martha S. and Carl H. Lindner III Hall on April 16, 2010, in an afternoon ceremony attended by a large crowd of faculty, staff, students, administrators and members of the board of trustees on campus for their spring meeting.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ leaders will dedicate Martha S. and Carl H. Lindner III Hall on Friday in an afternoon ceremony that welcomes back to campus the donors whose gift helped make the building possible. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ, faculty and staff are invited to attend the 4 p.m. dedication on the north patio facing the Academic Village.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ hosted Special Olympics Alamance County on Friday as athletes from surrounding communities visited campus for the nonprofit’s annual spring games. Several university students volunteered for the program, which included appearances by Elon Phoenix football players, cheerleaders and the Phoenix mascot.

English professor Andy Angyal gave an April 13 talk on "Green Design and the Quest for Sustainability" sponsored by the North Carolina Humanities Council at West Regional Library in Cary, N.C.
