The senior elementary education major and environmental education minor recently published an article in the international journal Environmental Education Research on the role of gender in nature-based learning experiences, and is immersed in the classroom as a student-teacher.

The designation by nonpartisan organizations Fair Elections Center’s ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Vote Project and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education recognizes efforts by Elon to encourage voter registration and participation during the 2020 elections.

The annual service opportunities will take place closer to campus this year, with students invited to work with community organizations in programs taking place March 19-21.

Accompanied by Assistant Professor Mark Cryan, nine members of the club sports team volunteered with Christmas Cheer of Alamance County, which delivers toys, clothing, food and financial assistance to area families.

School of Communications students and Elon News Network earned a total of 13 accolades in the Broadcast Education Association’s 2021 Festival of Media Arts, a digital media and broadcast competition for faculty and students.

Elon was recently recognized as a top producer of Fulbright students, and McKelvey is among the scores of Elon alumni who have taught English or conducted research abroad through the program.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Compact has named Anna Gillespie '24 a recipient of a Newman Civic Fellowship, which recognizes and supports community-oriented students and is named for Frank Newman, a founder of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Compact.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ President Connie Ledoux Book joined with Margaret Dudley, director of Elon Law’s Emergency Legal Services Program, and Barbara Spencer L’21 on visits to resource centers for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and elder abuse in Guilford and Alamance counties.

The associate professor of strategic communications, with more than 30 years of professional experience in the corporate communications and public relations industry, will help lead the cross-industry coalition committed to improving diversity, equity and inclusion in the communications field.

The Peace Corps, in commemoration of its 60th anniversary, will host a virtual panel discussion at Elon focused on the value of international service.
