Thousands of refugees each year face hurdles in rebuilding lives away from homes where they were persecuted, and on Monday evening in the Global Neighborhood, ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ students learned more about issues confronting new arrivals to the United States.

The Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life hosted an Oct. 16 celebration that helped ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ students learn more from local Muslims about their beliefs.

The second House Dinner of the semester brought together students, faculty and staff for an intellectual discussion.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s Fall Convocation and Baird Pulitzer Prize Lecture on Oct. 2, 2014, featured Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, husband-and-wife journalists who shared ways for people to make a difference in battling global challenges like poverty, sex trafficking and lack of educational opportunities.

A Fireside Chat:  To Discuss Bias and Harassment on Elon’s ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ

INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine has recognized Elon with a 2014 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award, an accolade that reflects ongoing university efforts to celebrate and support students, staff, faculty and alumni of all backgrounds and beliefs.

President Leo M. Lambert joined directors from the Center for Access & Success on Tuesday to greet academically gifted and civically engaged scholarship recipients for whom an ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ education may otherwise have been financially impossible.

The Global Neighborhood Association in 2014-15 will offer service opportunities for its residents to work with immigrants and refugees in the surrounding community.
