David Gergen, prominent political commentator, former presidential adviser and chair of Elon Law's advisory board, features a posting on his "David Gergen's Voice" blog about the revitalization of downtown Greensboro, N.C. The piece, by Gergen's son Christopher, describes the role that Elon Law and other foundation-supported initiatives have played in the city's economic transformation.

Discovery.com, the online publication of the Discovery Channel, featured the work of Janna Anderson, associate professor of communications and director of the School of Communication's Imagining the Internet Center, in an Oct. 18 article.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ is the "featured member" for the week of Oct. 4, 2010, on the website and Bulletin e-newsletter distributed by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ professors, administrators and alumni made regional and national news in recent weeks through their research and activities, both on and off campus. The Business Journal of the Greater Triad reported in an early September article on a sustainability internship at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ currently filled by student Ben Stanley.

The Sierra Club named ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ one of the nation’s top “Coolest Schools” in the environmental group’s fourth annual rankings of America’s greenest campuses. It is the second consecutive year that Elon made the list, which rates schools in categories that include academics, waste management and energy efficiency.

EdTech, a magazine focused on technology applications in education, features ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ in its September/October edition. The article, titled "Building the Smarter Classroom," says that Elon is "taking instructional technology to the next level," with "pioneering collaborative classrooms and ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ students real-world skills."

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ faculty and academic programs earned numerous top national honors in the 2011 “America’s Best Colleges” rankings released Aug. 17 by US News & World Report. In the magazine's "Focused on Their Undergrads" ranking, Elon is named the #1 Southern University and among the top 86 colleges and universities in the nation "where the faculty has an unusual commitment to ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ," as measured in a survey of college presidents, provosts and admissions deans.

Elon has been named one of the nation's top universities in a PARADE magazine survey of high school guidance counselors across the country.
