Overview

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ offers tuition remission and tuition exchange as part of its comprehensive benefits package to support faculty and staff in advancing their education and career goals, as well as providing educational opportunities for their dependents.

Program Structure

Tuition remission allows eligible employees to enroll in courses at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ, with full-time employees permitted to take up to 8 credits per semester and part-time employees up to 4 credits per semester, with supervisor approval. Tuition exchange enables dependents of eligible employees to apply for enrollment at participating partner institutions through a national exchange program.

Staff & Faculty Experience

Employees can further their own education through coursework while continuing in their roles.

Benefits Extended to Family Members

The spouse/qualifying partner and eligible children of an eligible Elon employee shall qualify for either partial or full remission of tuition payments for courses taken at the University based upon the length of service of the employee.

Full-time employees (30-40 hours per week)

  • 0-24 months – 0
  • 2nd year (Beginning of or after 24 months) – 100% tuition remission

Part-time employees (20-29 hours per week)

  • 0-24 months – 0
  • 2nd year (Beginning of or after 24 months) – 50% tuition remission

Participation

Employees must obtain supervisor approval to enroll in courses and ensure participation does not conflict with work responsibilities. Eligibility requires meeting service thresholds and adhering to program guidelines outlined by the university.

Tuition remission eligibility begins upon hire for ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ coursework; graduate program eligibility requires at least 12 months of employment (with limited exceptions).

Tuition Exchange for Dependents

Available to dependents of full-time employees who meet at least 2 years (24 months) of service by the applicable academic year deadline.
